Designed to fit pickups and utility duty dump trucks, the FSP meets the snow and ice
control needs of a wide spectrum of users...from municipalities for intersection and
spot clean-up to private contractors for malls, apartments, condos and industrial
parks.  Since the FSP is a snap to mount and dismount, trucks remain available for
other uses when the weather isn't inclement.

Even though the FSP is built for light duty trucks, it has a heavy duty attitude with
a ruggedness built in that assures years of low-maintenance service.  Available 
painted in Mild Steel and 409 Stainless Steel or unpainted in 304 Stainless Steel.

Single lift point on cross channel for quick, easy on-man installation.
8.5 horsepower I/C gasoline engine for dependability in tough spreading conditions.

12 ga. feedgate is lever operated.  Has side mounted ruler for greater accuracy of material control.
Minimum of two (depending on model) 14 ga. side supports per side for optimum rigidity.
All surfaces are high pressure cleaned, phosphated, primed and painted Highway Orange.
Adjustable idler shaft for chain tension to assure smoother performance and longer chain life.
Width of spread is adjustable from 4' to 32' to meet conditions.


Specifications

General
A selt-contained utility spreader for mounting on pickups or light duty trucks and is powered by an 8.5 H.P. I/C gasoline engine.  Material is spread by a 12" diameter spinner fed by a 14" wide chain conveyor.  Material being spread is metered for accuracy and economy of spread.

Cab mounted controls with breakaway plug for quick mounting/removal of unit.  All surfaces are high pressure cleaned and phosphated, primed, and painted Highway Orange.

Body
All electric welded 14 ga. steel sides and ends, with channel formed top
edge.  overall height is 31-1/4" and inside with of 54".  Body has a single
lift point on cross channel support.  The 4" x 8" 12 ga. feedgate is lever
operated with side mounted ruler for accurate control of material.

All units have a minimum of two 14 ga. side supports per side.  12 ga.
long sills with top edge formed down to protect conveyor side chain and a 10 ga. floor with front and rear rollover lips.  Bottom cross supports are 3/8" x 1-1/2" flat.

Conveyor
14" wide, all steel, riveted pintle chain with 1/4" x 3/4" cross bars spaced
on 5" centers.  Chain tensile strength is 11,000 lbs. per strand.  20:1 
gearcase has a high tensile cast iron housing, aluminum bronze gear,
and a hardened and ground steel worm with a 1" input shaft and
1-1/8" output shaft.

6 tooth cast iron sprockets are self-cleaning with special support collars
for longer chain and sprocket life.  Sprockets are keyed to the 1-1/8"
drive shaft.  1" idler shaft is counterbored with sprockets running on
bronze bushings.  Idler shaft is adjustable for chain tension.

Spinner Chute Assembly
Material is guided from conveyor to spinner through enclosed chute
with two slide rod adjustable internal deflectors.  #40 nickel plated chain drives the 3/4" dia. spinner shaft which is supported by two pillow block bearings.

12" diameter spinner disc has three 409 Stainless Steel formed fins.  There
are four rod and clip pin adjustable external deflectors for complete
control of spread.  No tools required.  All hinges are stainless steel for
extended life.  Width of spread is 4' to 32'.

Engine
8.5 horsepower 4-cycle, air-cooled I/C engine with cast iron cylinder sleeves and is Synchro-Balanced® for reduced vibration.  Standard equipment includes a 12-volt electric starter/alternator, an electric clutch that is rated at 90 ft/lbs and may be engaged/disengaged at any selected engine RPM, and a fully enclosed hinged engine hood.  The battery (not included) is enclosed within a protective casing and mounted on R.H. side of hopper.

Cab Controls
Completely enclosed console includes an ignition on/off switch, push button starter, and an electric clutch on/off switch.  The standard electric throttle control eliminates maintenance problems associated with conventional cable throttle control.
